FAQs

Kava (Piper methysticum) is a shrub native to the South Pacific (Vanuatu, Fiji, and Hawaii) whose roots contain kavalactones. Kava's active compounds, called 'Kavalactones', interact with the brain to produce calming and relaxing effects, often reducing overwhelm and promoting a sense of tranquility.

The dried and powdered kava root has been used for hundreds of years to make kava tea. While several parts of the plant can be consumed, the hearty root is considered the best. The roots are harvested and dried by farmers. From there, it gets pulverized into a fine, fluffy powder. This powder is used to make the Kava beverages.

Akuamma, also known as Picralima Nitida, is a wonderful rainforest tree that grows natively in West Africa (primarily in Nigeria) alongside the riverbanks.

The seeds of the Akuamma tree are harvested and commonly used amongst the community for its various benefits.

Similar to Kratom leaves, Akuamma seeds contain special alkaloids that, when consumed, encourage highly calming and analgesic properties. While Akuamma seeds contain many different alkaloids, the most prominent is called Akuammine.

Almost every single part of the Akuamma tree can be consumed, but the seeds are said to be the most potent. Natives claim that all of the individual parts of the Akuamma tree (bark, leaves, seeds, and root) are rumored to have their own unique benefits.

Ashwagandha (pronounced "ash-wuh-gaan-duh") has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda, a form of traditional Indian holistic medicine practices, and is often used as an alternative to Kratom.

It is best known for its potential ability to increase energy, reduce overwhelming feelings, improve concentration, and support a healthy well-being.

Kava's active compounds, called 'Kavalactones', interact with the brain to produce calming and relaxing effects, often reducing overwhelm and promoting a sense of tranquility.

Kava is known to relax the activity going on in your nervous system - promoting calm, relaxing effects and promoting a better sense of well-being - aka Happiness! But when it comes to the scientific studies of plants found in nature, we don’t have an abundance at our disposal. With limited funding for such studies, scientific evidence remains scarce.
