The youngest leaves on the Kratom tree are smaller than the rest. Those leaves also have stem and veins that resemble a lighter color than their counterparts.

- These leaves have not fully developed yet, so the alkaloid content in them will differ slightly from the other phases they'll eventually go through.
- As the white vein Kratom leaves mature, they'll start to produce more chlorophyll and begin taking on a darker green color that resembles a traditional leaf. This forms a different type of Kratom.
