Balancing healthy habits and leisurely enjoyment can be tricky. The secret is to let yourself have fun without being too hard on yourself. In America, most people blow off steam by going out to local bars and restaurants with friends. The social bar scene can be messy and undesirable, though. If you go to bars, you know how it feels to deal with that one person who’s just way too intoxicated to be out in public. It’s not fun! Plus, frequent alcohol consumption poses serious threats to your overall health.

What if there was a way to socialize with your friends in a bar scene, but avoid the chaos of alcohol?

Within the last decade, herbal botanicals have grown immensely in popularity. So much so, that you can now find little hotspots (Kratom Bars) that serve herbal tea beverages instead of alcohol. Some examples include Kratom, Kava, CBD, Maca Root, and Kombucha. These special botanicals are believed to provide healthful effects of relaxation and well-being to the user, making them preferable to those who want to let loose without drinking alcohol.

What is a Kratom Bar?

“Kratom Bars” are a newer form of establishment that combines the offerings of a traditional bar and a cafe/coffee shop. Rather than serving alcoholic beverages, these places offer a variety of botanical drinks. Typically they serve herbal teas, smoothies, and other concoctions. As mentioned above, you can find botanicals such as Kratom, Kava, CBD, Maca Root, and Kombucha. Some Kratom Bars may even offer a limited menu of food including healthy appetizers and other goodies.

Due to the wide variety of items on their menu, they aren’t always called “Kratom Bars”. They may be called CBD Bars, Juice Bars, Kava Bars, or Herbal Juice Bars. Despite the different names, they should have a similar selection of ethnobotanicals available.

The goal of a Kratom Bar is to create a fun and safe environment for people who want to enjoy their favorite botanical refreshments and socialize with friends. It’s a great way to connect with new people who have similar values as yours. Kratom Bars are usually more health-conscious than places like bars, smoke shops, and head shops.

Before we dive deeper, let’s briefly discuss what Kratom is and why people use it.

What is Kratom and How is it Used?

Kratom has been around for hundreds of years but it hasn’t been very popular in the United States until recently. It comes from the Mitragyna Speciosa tree, a large evergreen tree that grows natively throughout Southeast Asia. The natives have used Kratom as a type of botanical medicine to treat various ailments.

The fascinating thing about Kratom is the incredible benefits it produces for the user. Within the leaves are active alkaloids that create the effects. You can find Kratom in various strains, all of which have different alkaloid profiles that offer distinct benefits. There is Red Vein Kratom, Green Vein Kratom, White Vein Kratom, and Yellow Vein Kratom. Depending on the strain, Kratom can produce effects like energy, focus, motivation, relaxation, discomfort relief, positive mentality, and restful sleep.

A Word on Kratom Legality

Kratom is currently legal in the United States with a few exceptions in some states and local counties. You can refer to the Kratom Legality Map to find out if Kratom is legal in your state. Right now, a total of six states have chosen to make Kratom illegal within state lines.

Since Kratom is gaining popularity so quickly, we hope that more funding goes towards scientific research of Kratom and its benefits. We believe that with more research to prove its remedial properties, people will begin to see Kratom in a new light. In our personal opinion, Kratom is much more preferable for your health than drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes.

What to Expect When you Visit your Local Kratom Bar

You can expect a similar atmosphere to your traditional bar scene, except they generally don’t serve alcohol. It’s a more laid-back, calm vibe than a traditional bar as well.

Here’s a comment from an article published by Sun-Sentinel.com about a Nakava Bar Boca Raton - America’s First Kratom Bar in South Florida…

"Step to the bar top at Nakava Bar in Boca Raton and you won’t find a sip of alcohol on the menu. Instead, you’ll find colorful combinations of cold and hot teas blended with herbs including Kratom — a plant native to Southeast Asia used for its stimulant and relieving effects."

Kratom Bars offer people an opportunity to socialize with the botanical community while sipping on a cup of their favorite herbal tea. In some locations, you can even bring a book or your laptop to be productive; similar to a cafe or coffee shop.
